12 years old? Until now I was at 14 the youngest diagnosis I had come across. 12, that sounds awful. A 12-year-old brain should never have to grapple with something as complex as bipolar disorder. You've been battling mental illness significantly longer than I have, and I'm already about at my wit's end, so I salute your strength. I'm you're still around.

I love the way you described the brain. Even I hadn't until now assigned it that term. I thought about mental illness as an illness of the brain, just as a broken hand is of the body, but calling the brain an organ finally completed the jigsaw, if that makes sense. Like when you know the practical details of a concept but don't know what it's called.

There's absolutely no need to thank me. I just shared something that happened to me.

And it's okay, I'm old-fashioned, I love receiving long letters. Sometimes what we have to say can't fit within the prescribed margins. No need to apologize. To the contrary, thank you for this wonderful comment.

I'm glad you're doing better, and I hope you continue to thrive. :)
