I used to think almost exactly like you until a year or two ago. There isn’t a profound moment which changed that; it was a more gradual process. I now understand that it’s not all bad. There are positives. We may choose to dwell on the negatives to the point where they paralyze us, or we may choose to try our damndest to make ourselves and the world a better place. I can write, so I choose to write articles about mental health. That’s my way of helping. It doesn’t matter how small it is; the important thing is we do something. The world won’t change unless we make it.
It’s simple, really. Do what you can to change the world, and ever so often, set aside time to do whatever makes you feel better. Heal yourself, and the world, one day at a time.
