I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. And about your IBS. I hope you can find a way to live with both. I can't say anything that'd bring your mother back, but for your IBS, might I recommend a combination of yoga and meditation? If you have depression or anxiety, the primary treatment must be directed there, but both yoga and meditaition are useful adjunct treatments to calm your mind, which in turn calms your stomach.
