Not to seem argumentative, but SSRIs do keep me stable now, so I am personally indebted to them, but can you conclusively prove SSRIs cause depression? Who, exactly, has rejected the serotonin-depression link? Has the FDA stated SSRIs are a lie? If SSRIs cure what they cause, how did I get depressed in the first place? When I wasn't taking any?
It's great that vipassana has changed your life, but I think it's highly irresponsible of you to attack SSRIs on a public forum, where anyone can read your words and take them for fact, and be discouraged from seeking clinical treatment, without providing sufficient evidence.
Take the following statement for example: Meditation does not work for everyone (https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/psychological-medicine/article/abs/prevalence-of-harm-in-mindfulnessbased-stress-reduction/A97168BD448E68E12394A66738C0FECE) and can in some instances cause actual harm (https://theconversation.com/meditation-can-be-harmful-and-can-even-make-mental-health-problems-worse-230435).
See how I cited my sources? You can't make disparaging statements about life-saving medications without backing up your words with hard findings.
