I live in India, so the USD equivalent of what I spent on marketing would be around $450. Not too expensive.

But no, I have not made a profit yet. Well, I have made back more than that amount from my freelance writing endeavors, but as far as book sales go, I would not recommend spending too much if your book is going to be your only source of income. I am willing to spend only because I have other sources from which I can make back that amount.
