To be completely honest, I don't understand what people mean by positive thinking. It's such a vague term. It depends entirely upon the situation. If you're afraid of speaking publicly, for example, what does positive thinking mean? Thinking it won't be that bad? But that won't erase your trepidation, right? Logical thinking is clearer. There's a cognitive distortion named catastrophizing that makes us fear the worst. Reality is never as bad. That's logical. But even that won't erase the anixiety. The anxiety will die only when the event is over. Not that positive thinking is bad or anything, but I just find it vague when somebody says think positive.
