We as a Society Must Stop Thinking in Extremes

Something is never completely good nor completely bad; there is always a middle path

Of late there has been a decidedly radical shift in the thinking patterns of humanity. Compromise has become a dirty word. It’s either my way or the highway, something is either wholly good or wholly evil. The middle path has been eroded by a veritable stampede of fanatical extremism.

Let’s start with small examples that most of you have probably come across at least once. The Walking Dead v. Game of Thrones. WWE v. AEW. Call of Duty v. Battlefield. Why not both? Why can one not be a fan of all of them at the same time? We see this trend even in the entertainment industry.

Then there’s politics. Left v. Right. Conservatism v. Liberalism. Nationalism v. Globalization. My Party v. Your Party. Religion. Christianity v. Islam. Hinduism v. Islam. Everything is a contest. Everything is either/or. Why? Why must one side be vilified and the other revered?

I for one find it incredibly tough to believe liberalism or conservatism could work all across the board, as well economically as it does socially. And it is inconceivable to me that one could…
