Weeeeelllllll, you're not going to like the fact that Ridley Scott has said he has a rough script in mind for a third film as well. :P
I agree, there was something about the original Blade Runner. The tone, Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer. It was a hypnotic movie. I could still go either way, depending on the day, on the original v. sequel conversation. Both were groundbreaking movies in their own right.
But perhaps it's because technology has advanced a lot now, but 2049 felt just a bit more polished and fluid. And Ryan Gosling was goosebumps-inducing as K. As was Rutger Hauer as Roy in the original.
